The Strangers Project
The Strangers Project is a collection of over 4000 anonymous journal entries collected in person and online from complete strangers. In 2009 I started the project while sitting outside of a coffee shop and wondering if any of the hundreds of people walking by would share a story about their life with a complete stranger. Using a marker and a notebook I made a sign that said “Hi There! Please stop by and share your story!” Within minutes people were stopping by, and since then the project has grown tremendously in both content and scale.

Send Silence Packing
Send Silence Packing is one of Active Minds largest national programs. This acclaimed suicide awareness program is a traveling display of 1,100 backpacks representing the 1,100 college students who die by suicide each year. I’ve taken the program on the road to 36 cities over three tours so far, and I’m heading off on the fourth tour at the end of March, 2012. Check out the blog for my pictures and write-ups during each tour.
